Dr. Kaoutar EL HANDRI

Biography

Kaoutar EL HANDRI, an associate researcher at aivancity, is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rabat, where she conducts research and teaches in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and telemedicine. She is a permanent researcher at the MedBioTech laboratory and an associate researcher at the aivancity research laboratory.

She holds a Ph.D. in AI and Big Data from Mohammed V University and has published more than 30 scientific articles in high-impact journals. She has also filed two patents in the field of applied AI, one of which has already been granted. Her research focuses on developing innovative solutions to optimize medical practices and support clinical decision-making.

Certified in Big Data by IBM, she supervises several doctoral students in a variety of research areas, including digital health, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and Big Data. With over eight years of experience, she has collaborated on several international projects—two of which received funding—and has helped train the next generation of experts in AI and data science.

A recipient of prestigious awards, including the Orange Corners Sports Award for the best AI application in sports, she is also a speaker for LOGYTalks and the author of popular science articles for platforms such as Morocco World News.

Publications

Prevention of Diseases in Medicinal Plants: This project is a collaboration between the ISGA Aivaincity School of AI and Big Data in Paris-Cachan, the University of Valencia in Spain, and the company Substrate AI. The goal of this project is to prevent diseases in medicinal plants.
SynLean Project: The SynLean project aims to use AI to study and draw inspiration from the phenomenon of synesthesia. This project is being carried out at the LIMIE laboratory at ISGA in collaboration with students from the Faculty of Medicine in Rabat and ENSET in Mohammadia.
Help Mind Project: The Help Mind Project is an initiative of the SOC (Sports Social Innovation Lab) as part of a program run by the Sports Social Innovation Lab in partnership with TIBU Africa and Orange Corners, an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
COVID-19 Prevention: Early Detection and Diagnosis of COVID-19 Using Predictive Modeling: The Use of AI Recommendation Systems to Develop Models That Predict the Spread of the Virus and the Impact of Public Health Interventions.
