Published on September 7, 2021
AIVANCITY PARIS-CACHAN, the EPF Engineering School, ESTP, and ESITC Paris have joined forces to form the Paris-Cachan Alliance for Science and Technology.

Strengthened by shared educational, human and community values, and eager to work together in the service of young people and higher education, aivancity Paris-Cachan, EPF école d'ingénieur-e-s, ESTP and ESITC Paris are joining forces on the Cachan site to found an alliance around an ambitious project, anchored in common achievements and the specific characteristics of each of the four schools.

An alliance based on shared values and aspirations

These independent private institutions of higher education and research have chosen to join forces within the Paris-Cachan Alliance for Science and Technology because they share common values and a shared vision:

  • Educational values of excellence and a commitment to serving students A desire to instill in them a certain vision of progress—not only technological, but also rooted in the humanistic values that drive and shape their view of the world and society.
  • Students educated at these schools share these values and the responsibilities that come with them. The Alliance Schools place great emphasis on their personal growth and development by providing them with a space for dialogue, the exchange of knowledge and experiences, creativity, and projects.
  • Their aspirations for a shared local area and their commitment to positioning their business at the heart of development initiatives in the city of Cachan, the Val-de-Marne department, and the Île-de-France region. This local and regional roots are essential to making the Alliance a committed partner to local communities, actively contributing to the growth of a city and a region, and bringing new momentum to businesses.

The Alliance thus sees itself as a platform, a hub of expertise and resources, and a place for integration and initiatives, particularly in the areas of innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.

An alliance that facilitates the joint development of schools at the national and international levels, while allowing each school to pursue its own unique development at the local level.
  • The Alliance aims to provide structure without being restrictive; it leverages the combined expertise of its members without hindering their freedom of action. It is a pragmatic Alliance, grounded in projects and concrete achievements, and open to innovation, collaboration, and future partnerships.
  • The Alliance’s strength lies as much in the unique characteristics of its members and their distinct features as in their commitment to working together, through science and technology, to build the society of tomorrow.
  • The Alliance will enable us to pool our strengths and resources around joint projects and initiatives, including: promotion, the student experience, research, and entrepreneurship, as well as the implementation of campus policies, the development of regional and international strategies, meetings and exchanges of experiences, and the organization of student, athletic, and club activities.

It is through its projects and initiatives that the Alliance will be able to make its mark on the national and international stages, help raise the profile of the city and region that host it, contribute to the development of the industrial and urban fabric, and offer students a unique experience.

“ “I am particularly pleased that aivancity is participating in the creation of the Paris-Cachan Alliance for Science and Technology. As a new institution, aivancity will be able to benefit from the experience, strength, and visibility of its new partners and will strive to enrich this strategic alliance with its innovative and unique character in France and Europe, particularly through its hybrid approach combining artificial intelligence and data science.”

“In 2021, on the eve of its centennial, EPF is ushering in a new era in its history with a state-of-the-art campus. This strategic partnership focused on the digital transformation of organizations, based in Cachan, is a powerful testament to our vision of the engineering school of the future serving society. More than ever, EPF is establishing itself as a school open to collaboration, placing at the heart of its mission the training of decision-makers who will guide major technological and organizational transitions in companies, both in France and internationally. “Together with our partners in Cachan, by combining our strengths and expertise, we will be better positioned to invent a new model of partnership and put science and technology at the service of students, businesses, and our region.”

“Founded in 1891, ESTP Paris is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year. In 1904, it established itself in Cachan, where its historic campus is located today. With the recent opening of new campuses in Troyes in 2017 and Dijon in 2019, the school has made establishing a strong presence in these regions a strategic focus of its development, adopting an ecosystemic approach to multidimensional interactions with local communities, businesses, higher education and research institutions, and society at large. The recent arrival of two schools in Cachan and the strengthening of ties with existing schools present an opportunity for ESTP, which is joining this alliance to create, centered on the themes of science and technology, a vehicle for attractiveness and visibility in the Île-de-France region as well as internationally, and to foster projects that serve students, economic development, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”

“The Paris-Cachan Alliance for Science and Technology is a next-generation campus and a truly groundbreaking initiative: four private higher education institutions with a strong focus on science and technology—each recognized in its respective field—have joined forces to establish an organization firmly rooted in its local community and open to local authorities, businesses, and key players in regional development. Beyond a simple policy of site-specific restrictions, we are thus offering our students greater resources, opportunities to broaden their knowledge through richer interdisciplinary courses, and the chance to increase associative and cultural exchanges while always drawing on the shared humanistic values of their home institutions. This represents a true force of nearly 10,000 students taking shape at the heart of France’s most dynamic and densely populated region. I hope that in the coming years, the Alliance will become a benchmark for the transmission of cutting-edge technological knowledge, first at the regional level, and then nationally.”
